With Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo, Bull Shoals, and several other bodies of water near us in the Branson area we are constantly asked what we enjoy doing as a “local”. Just as you could imagine we are all very different, but one thing in common is we enjoy the lakes in one way or another.
The most obvious way is boating of course. Table Rock Lake is the most popular lake for this especially with the tourist. Just down from the Dam, you will find our State Park Marina. They offer boat rentals, gas, groceries, ski rentals, tours, and more. This marina has everything you will need for a day on the lake. It is a one-stop-shop for sure!
The next thing that we enjoying doing is fishing. The area has multiple businesses that offer guided tours. If you fish Lake Taneycomo you will catch trout mostly. Towards the beginning of Taneycomo is a Fish Hatchery where they will let our trout every so often to keep the lake stocked. It is a great experience to visit if you have a chance. Kid-Friendly and they can even feed the fish. The kids love it every time.
Popular the last few years have been kayaks and Branson has jumped on the train! There are companies to rent or buy your own and they also will drop you off on one end of the lake and pick you up at a certain spot! This is definitely not my cup of tea, but I have found this great resource for everyone that would like more information.
When you think of lake living thing of relaxation, family time, and fun. Those are some of the qualities you get no matter what activity you decide to do in the Ozarks.
