Who else is wondering where this summer went? Doesn’t it feel like the kids just got out of school and we blink and now it’s time to go back to school! In the Branson, Missouri area there are multiple events to help with the cost of going back to school. Many schools in the area raise funds to purchase specific items for all the kids to assist in this time.
Every year Kirbyville Elementary Schools ask the parents to pay a small fee of $10-$15 to cover the cost of school supplies. The school purchases in bulk and gives every child the same thing, so there is no bullying or shame of not having the newest and best.
Kirbyville Middle School last year was able to raise funds to purchase all students a zipped 3-ring binder, paper, folders, & pens to assist.
Aug 2nd – Forsyth First Baptist Church is hosting the annual Back to School Bash 6pm-8pm. Students will receive a backpack filled with school supplies and be able to participate in games, inflatables, and a bbq. For grades 7-12th they can visit the Jeans for Teens table to receive a voucher for a free pair of jeans on the following Sunday.
Aug 2nd – Love Inc is hosting a School Readiness Fair at the Reeds Spring High School Gym. You can pre-register or show up between specific times to receive items for students going back to school.
Aug 4th – Branson First Baptist Church and Rec Plex host the annual Back to School Bash for Branson Students. At this event the students can receive a backpack with supplies, enjoy games, entertainment, and multiple other activities!
Aug 13th – Night of the Tiger located at the Hollister Football Field. This event will have local businesses lined up around the field giving out supplies, information, hair cuts, dental care, dinner, and so much more. This event reminds me more of a festival with all the fun activities. Each business has donated a small amount to help raise funds to provide school supplies for the students in all grades.
