The November monthly maintenance is to get your fireplace cleaned and inspected!
Having a system that is in working order and operating is essential. That is why before the cold hits in your area you need to get your system checked out. It is recommended that you get your chimney checked annually by a specialist.
The specialist will most likely open and adjust your damper, caulk the flashing on the roof if needed, and clean and adjust the fireplace screens and doors. Most specialists will also check the condition of the chimney spark arrestor and clean the fire chamber.
Just like your bug guy, you will go on their list and they will call you annually to ensure you have done your checkup or schedule one for you to keep you on top of it all.
